Terhile Ikyo: From Project Manager to a Lucrative Career in Email Marketing

How it all started.

As a project manager, I carefully strategized and organized the delivery of projects for over 12 years.

During that time, I loved managing everything that came under my role, but something still yearned for a better expression of the creative and analytical side of me.

I was captivated by the world of digital marketing, particularly email marketing due to its aspect of employing analytics for customer engagement. 

My journey to become a digital marketer actually started in 2019 after taking a certification course.

But many years, its seems I know just a little about everything but I was yet to major in one core skill.

Transition: My Motivation to Shift into Email Marketing

Redirecting my skills towards email marketing was not an easy decision largely because I had a lot of achievements under my belt as a seasoned marketer.

However, I wanted to play in an industry where I could exploit my analytical skills to devise personalized communication strategies that would have an impact.

Another reason was the staggering salary range from $40,000 to $500,000 for entry and senior positions respectively. 

The financial growth and independence I could achieve was simply remarkable. I was also drawn to the fact that I could switch to becoming a consultant and set up my agency for providing email marketing service.

Bootcamp Experience: Challenges, Skills, and Growth

KISSmarketers Bootcamp had everything I was looking for. It completely transformed my skillset with its extensive curriculum ranging from writing enticing email copy to design templates to eye-catching visuals. 

The most important aspect for me was the mindset change that helped us to see things from the customers point of view so get the best out of your campaigns.

I also learned in strong terms the power that comes from segmentation of clients, A/B testing, and managing brand messaging.

Current Outlook: Reshaping My Career Trajectory

The KISSmarketers Bootcamp has helped to totally change my career trajectory and potential. In comparison to what I knew before, I am very confident in my email marketing skills and I remain optimistic that the best still lies ahead.

I am confident that as I advance my email marketing expertise, and continue honing my skills I will be able to help brands increase their revenues through the vehicle of email marketing.
